Ask Vee! Your fitness questions answered

Q: I sit at work all day and have no time to exercise, are there any desk exercises I can do?

A: Seating at your desk all day can be quite limiting. However, if you are comfortable doing some squats, dips and hammer jug curls while at your desk, you can definitely squeeze in a brief workout. These workouts can be done using your own body weight, resistance bands, a low height desk and two milk jugs. If you are not able to do the above, there is not much that can be done besides stretching/yoga exercises. Unfortunately this alone will not keep you fit. I would highly recommend that you take at least 15 to 20 minutes to exercise during your lunch break if you absolutely have no time to exercise before or after work. Perhaps you could initiate a wellness program at your workplace. What do you think about a starting a stairs challenge? This could be fun and but more importantly you will be getting fit together as a team. And you know what; promoting good health is promoting good business.
